Working Together
How Parents Can Help During Class
A calm, focused training area helps every student learn. Parents and
caregivers play an important role in helping children stay attentive,
respectful, and ready to participate.
01
Prepare Before Class
Please encourage your child to use the restroom before class begins
and arrive with their water bottle and training gear ready.
02
Keep Distractions Low
Please keep phone use and conversations to a minimum near the mats.
Children are naturally curious and may look away when they hear or
see activity on the sidelines.
03
Review Mat Expectations
Before class, remind your child to remain on the mat, listen to the
coaches, and avoid stepping away unless they have permission or need
help.
04
Respect Their Partner’s Time
Your child’s training time is also their partner’s training time.
Staying focused, following directions, and participating respectfully
helps both students learn and enjoy class.
Support from the Sidelines
Please allow the coaches to lead instruction and correction during
class. Quiet encouragement is always welcome, but limiting sideline
coaching helps children focus on their coach, build independence, and
become more confident on the mat.
